A new world
or a demi-world... I'm thinking of taking the region of Tibet, modifying it a bit, and putting a few people on it with various cultures, and then give it a whole new history. I have an idea for a story arc that is actually too long for a novel, so clearly I need to have a series. But, I worry, I always worry, that I'll lose track of some of the details, so I'm creating a history, culture, and so on. There are lots of monks.
And, of course, war, strife, complications.
It's a new adventure for me. I'm experimenting with different writing genres (mystery is really hard!) and looking for what fits my style best.
My reading is far more eclectic than my writing. I want to branch out a bit and see what I can do with words.
I will wear my tight underwear and cape, it will flap in the imaginary breeze, and my skin-tight shirt will bear the emblem of Pedantic Woman! Yes, I will create the entire sphere of action so that when I am writing the actual action, I don't have to worry... I can look it up... just like the real world.
--- Reading: On Equilibrium (John Ralston Saul), Saving Fish From Drowning (Amy Tan)
Writing: Three Bags Full and various short stories
