Role Playing through writing
My best bud Ronda and I have started writing together (a fantasy story) through our letters. We both kinda brainstormed, but we haven't set an outline, which I like as we have more freedom. She started it off, then sent it to me. I added a page or so and sent it to her. It's back to me now for my 2nd 'instalment'. It's a great way for us to practice our writing. And who knows? Maybe it will be on a best seller list someday

Re: Role Playing through writing
Ronda and i are really making some progress. If I remember correctly, we have about 20 pages written so far. There are delays, due to our own life as well as the postal system. However, we are having alot of fun doing it. Our characters have just met, so it will be fun to see how they interact.

Have you considered doing it via email? That might eliminate the delay through the postal system.

Re: Role Playing through writing
Well, that's a really good idea, but I don't have the internet at home and I can't always get to the library. I don't mind that it sometimes takes awhile. I have other projects on the go so I work on them in between. If I ever get the net I will mention it. She has also had problems with her computer and has gone weeks without the net.

Re: Role Playing through writing
I've tried something like that with friends, and found it to be refreshing fun!
Just a couple pages per person with paper and pen, then passed on to the next writer. Once we tried it with three writers. It was quite exciting. It was a tale of dragons. And you could never pre-plan your plotlines because by the time the story gets back to you it can change into a completely difficult story. You never knew what would come back to you, or what the other writers would do with what you passed off to them. Certainly nothing close to publishable came out of these exercises but they were a lot of fun.
Once with a buddy, we wrote a Western crime drama: "Sheriff, Somebody Shot My Cow!" I thought it was quite hilarious. We wrote in all of our others friends had them try to solve the mystery of who the man was in the purple socks - the true criminal!
Ah! Those were the days...
How is your story turning out Lady R? Any progress? What is yours about?
